• SCells are added to increase the available bandwidth and boost data rates.
• SCells are primarily used for user data transmission (PDSCH, PUSCH).
• Control signaling on SCells is limited compared to PCell; they do not handle RRC signaling directly.
• An SCell operates on a Secondary Component Carrier (SCC) and can be dynamically configured or released depending on network and UE capability.
