PDCCH Physical Downlink Control Channel

Fundamental channel in 5G (as well as in LTE) used to transmit DCI from the gNB to the UE. PDCCH is responsible for delivering key information regarding resource allocations, HARQ processes, Downlink and Uplink grants, and other essential control tasks. Without PDCCH the UE wouldn't know when or where to receive or transmit user data.
