Type of Cell

• The PCell is the cell that handles the main radio connection for the UE.
• Initial connection (RRC signaling, random access) and control are done via the PCell.
• The PCell carries all control channels (e.g., PDCCH, RRC) and is always present as long as the connection is active.
• In LTE, the PCell operates on the Primary Component Carrier (PCC).
